Magnesium (Mg) has been paid attention to the viewpoint of weight reduction structural materials. However, Mg alloys fabricated by ingot metallurgy process have limited applications as materials due their low mechanical property and corrosion resistance. In this research, novel Mg-Al alloy was synthesized alloying-spark plasma sintering (MA-SPS) process. Vickers hardness test X-ray diffraction were carried out evaluate effect Al addition on properties alloys. The improved with increasing amount Al, in particular when 30 mass% added, value over 200 HV. This improvement attributable Mg17Al12 identified diffraction. conclusion, via MA-SPS
